Budding Hair Trends for Spring

Spring is in bloom and new hair trends are budding. It’s time to leave the long and cold winter behind and prepare your tress for the warm days ahead. The rising temperatures make way for beach days, picnics and outdoor activities, but ladies let’s face it; the heat also brings out humidity and frizz which can definitely rain on our parade.

Budding Hair Trends for SpringLooking effortlessly & naturally chic this spring is simple; beautiful hair starts with a healthy scalp. Begin reviving and revitalizing your locks from the winter woes by maintaining your hair moisturized and scalp clean. This is essential as in the spring and summer we tend to sweat more often.  For example, you can use Head & Shoulders advanced Ocean Lift Shampoo and Conditioner with sea mineral essence that invigorates and cleanses the scalp. For hair that needs a bit more TLC, try Citrus Breeze shampoo and 2-in-1 formula with citrus extracts that freshens lifeless hair.

With some spring bounce restored to your locks you are ready to rock this season’s must have hair trends.  Retro-glam is the look of the season inspired by the 50s and 60s with a modern twist. Below are the hairdo’s that are in according to your hair length.

Medium & Long Hair

The Hump: If you have long hair, whether it’s straight or curly, creating a hump (or bump) in the center of your hair creates volume. Begin by combing all of your hair back and center the mid-section of the hair and twist into place. You can create volume by teasing the hair with a comb, beginning at the root and working your way back.

Side Ponytail: Another great option for this season is to create a side swiped ponytail. Comb your hair towards one side and secure the hair in place with a clip or hair band, you can also use bobby pins. Remember spring is about looking natural so you don’t want to pull the ponytail too tight. Long hair should be full of natural movement this season.

Classic French Twist: The French twist is a classic hairdo that always creates an effortlessly chic look. Start by creating a half up ponytail and leaving the length of the hair down. You can leave the length either straight or create soft waves. Once again I want to remind you not to pull too tightly and do not put too much hairspray in order to maintain a natural look.

Short Hair

Classic Hollywood Glamour: This season old Hollywood glamour returns with the classic bob cut. Many celebrities currently have this cut. I love this look because it is very sexy and doesn’t require much effort or volume, only a bit (of volume) at the front of the crown.

For All Lengths

Trends come and go but classic hairdos stand the test of time because they are easy to create and they look good at any length.

Up Dos: Tight or loose hair buns at the nape of the neck and traditional ponytails are perfect for creating a romantic look and they also help keep us cool on hot days. With a touch of creativity you can add your own style to these simple dos with accessories. Additionally, you can add waves to create a soft natural look.
