Natalie Morales Blows Us Away

So there’s this super-slim woman running around my television wearing a crisp, white button-down shirt, a black tie with an olive green blazer and skinny, black pants and belt complete with clip capabilities and I know that whatever she’s doing, it must be pretty important.

And, it is because Natalie Morales is here to save us as struggling artist turned crime fighter, Wendy Watson, on ABC Family’s “The Middleman”. Natalie enlightens us on her comic book character, her wish for superpowers and the powerful support of her Cuban family.

Natalie Morales image 2I’ve been seeing your television promo on the big screen in theatres as part of the pre-movie commercials. How do you feel as the premiere gets closer?

Honestly, it’s a blend of terrified and excited. I just hope people stick around for the whole season… I think this show has gotten better and better.

The show is based on a comic book. With numerous comic book stories brought to the big and small screen, do you feel any pressure in staying true to Wendy Watson?

Yes! To me it is what needed to be done. I’m not dying my hair red though!

Do you think viewers will be able to identify with Wendy Watson? How so?

I hope so. I do. Wendy would definitely be one of my friends. She’s just a regular girl… with a lot of wit and heart.

Do you feel there are any similarities between you and Wendy?

Yes, for sure they are some. She’s very passionate and I think that I relate to that a lot. And I’d like to think I’m pretty witty too.

Who are some of your favorite superheroes?

Batman.

For those viewers that are unfamiliar with The Middleman, what can they expect?

A whirlwind of craziness. I think its best not to explain or prepare. You’ll see.

If you were a real superhero, what would your superpowers be?

I’d wanna fly and I’d really like to be invisible when I wanted to be.

What is one thing you’d like people to know about you?

That I’m not an anchor on The Today Show.

Is your family still in Miami? What do they think about your first big television role?

Yes, they’re all still there. And they’re all very supportive and amazing. Especially my mom. She had a party for the premiere and sent me flowers. She’s awesome.
