Spin Class

Hey Miss DJ, check this out. There’s a school in Philly that teaches young women how to be spin goddesses. It’s called Girls’ DJ 101 and it gives girls first hand experience on how to spin records, mix beats and use the all important sound equipment. Co-founded and taught by Rashida Holmes and Carolyn Chernoff, Girls’ DJ 101 is a free program open to girls 13-17 years old and also provides additional events for young women over the age of 17. For more information on how you can become a mixmaster extraordinaire, go to GirlsDJ.com.
